About the Print
One of the most iconic buildings in London, this image of it was painted from across the river at low tide. I wanted the image to reflect the majesty and sheer, haunting presence that the building has. The title seemed apt because the building was worked on by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott whose role it was to enhance the external appearance of the massive architecture, 30 years earlier he had designed Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. I went to art college in Liverpool and had lived almost in the shadow of that amazing building so Battersea Cathedral it had to be!
