From childhood, I remember coming up to town on the train and the excitement of drawing closer to Victoria, signalled by the steady convergence of train tracks into a motorway of clattering carriages fetching and delivering its human cargo. As one passed Battersea Power Station it was time to get bags off racks and slide open the window in readiness to open the carriage door.
This view was painted from Ebury Bridge, looking back to Battersea.
