This is taken from a monotype done on location on the Northumbrian Coast. I worked directly onto an acetate sheet using a roller, credit card and black etching ink, responding from eye to hand and almost bypassing my brain! I just reacted to what was in front of me with the elements informing the whole experience. I had an etching press in the van and printed the result by the roadside. Back in the studio I re-imagined the scene by night to emphasise the movement of the waves and to add drama an extra narrative to the silhouetted Bathing House on the skyline.
